Nainital is one of the famous Lake City of India also known “Lake District”(the lake district of India), which is situted in Uttarakhand and distance from Delhi 300Km. There are also three lakes Sattal Lake, Bhimtal Lake and Naukuchiyatal Lake. British Lord Barron was discovered Nainital in 1841. The beautiful weather and the lakes ringed by hills and also the surroundings hill afford very attractive place of view, turned into a summer capital tourist spot. In Nainital Lake offer of boating through yachts, paddle boats and traditional rowing boats are available. The Nainital Boat House Club exclusively holds the management of Yachting in Nainital. A horseback ride to the top of Naina peak, the highest point, provides stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas.

Naini Lake

Naini Lake one of the most attractive and beautiful places in Nainital. This places is for those who loves natural and also for those who loves boating and adventure. The annual Kingfisher Yachting Competition is held in Naini Lake on every year of June.

Bhimtal Lake

Bhimtal Lake is the very largest lake in Nainital. It is approx 22 km from the city center of Nainital. Bhimtal Lake is named after the second brother Pandav Bhima of Mahabharat. You can see here a island on this lake where also have a popular restaurant on this island. Also here is very famous 17th century temple Bhimeshwar. Boating is allowed here so you can also enjoy water sports here.

Naini Devi Temple

Naini Devi temple is must visit places of devout Hindus. Naini Devi temple is located on the northern shore of Naini lake. It was rebuild in 1883 after destroyed from the landslip in 1880. You can also find an incredible look of hill station from Naini Devi temple.

Governor’s House

Governor’s House was build in 1899. Governor’s House is also known as Raj Bhawan which reminiscent of British age. It was erstwhile summer season residence of the British Governor. But now it is a official guest house for state guests of the Goverment of Uttarakhand.

Snow View Point

Snow View is located at altitude of 2260 m, Snow View Point offer a spectacular view of  snow -covered Himalayan, It is coldest places of Nainital. The best time to visit snow point is the month of October, You can reach here by cable car. You may enjoy by capturing breathtaking picture from this view point. Also you can see form here  the famous peaks of  Nanda Devi, Trisul on a clear sky.

Best Time To Visit Nainital

It was popularly known as a summer destination to British Governor. The best time to visit Nainital is from March to June. If you are planning to visit during the summer season, make sure to book hotel in advance, due to the escaping from hot lots of tourists came here. In this time Nainital gets so crowded. The weather of Nainital during winter is very cold, If you want to enjoy to see the snow-covered mountain. You may choose January-December.

How to Reach Nainital

Bus : Deluxe and A/C Volvo bus Services are available from the Capital City Delhi (300Km), Almora(65Km) Ranikhet (55Km) and Badrinath (325Km). And you can also hire an A/C or non A/C taxi from Delhi.
Train : There is no Railway Station, Kathgodam is the nearest Railway Station which is 34 Km away from Nainital. Ranikhet Exp Utr Samprk K Exp from Delhi, Bagh Exp form Howrah and Garib Rath from Kanpur are available train.
Air : Pantnagar airport is nearest airport to Nainital which is 70Km from Nainital,connected to Delhi International Airport.

Nainital is is famous hill station of Uttranchal India. It is known for its beautiful lake “Naini”and it is the base for tourism at here. This lake is called Naini because it looks like eye shape.
