Break in daily round of work, take a holiday trip.

Holidays are the days on which we rest from usual work. Sunday is the holiday in our country because we do not go about our business on this day. Holidays are of vital importance in our life. They are a must for those who are engaged in hard manual work. Continuous hard work tells upon the health of a man and many caused his nervous breakdown. Holidays bring in the necessary break in a daily round of his work, give him the necessary relief and send him back to his work with renewed zest and vigour. Holidays are to people what spices are to curry.

But they may be abused. If a man spends a holiday in idle gossips or in a continuous round of senseless pleasure or in any another bad way, he will have no good out of it. Rather it will do him harm – much more harm than continuous work will do; it will send him back to his work fatigued and uninterested rather than refreshed and interested.

As the old rhyme says :

“All work and no play
Makes Jack a dull”

Bored with the monotonic city life? Feeling imprisoned by your office walls? Frustrated of your relation with a spouse? That’s great news. Everything in your life is giving you a guilt-free ticket to a sweet and pleasant holiday. Listen to the voice that must be ringing somewhere in your mind and pleading you to take a break from the usual dull Jack life.

Without pondering it too much, just take that holiday calendar lying in front of you, book the tickets, pack your bags and go travelling on the next holiday you have. Short of cash? The internet is swarming with budget travel offers and discounted holiday tours. Compromise a bit on the luxury if you are really that short on cash but just go. Remember, how your parents took you out every time you had winter holidays in your school?

Remember,  how every time you came back home after the last day of term in school and wished happy holidays to everyone?  Remember, the adrenaline rush you used to get when you waited for the late night train to your holiday destination? If you can recall even one bit of your childhood travelling memories, do this for the sake of that memory. If there are no upcoming national holidays coming up on your holiday calendar, then just call in sick and make sure you hide your Facebook photos from your boss!

Depending on your budget and a number of days you have in hand, choose an appropriate holiday destination.  If you don’t like travelling alone, then ask your friends or, go for an awesome family trip. I am sure that there is at least one person in every friend circle, who has the heart of an explorer.  Though, if you really don’t feel like taking undue leaves, I suggest to wait until August or October.

Take a Holiday Trip

These are the months with the most number of national holidays in the Indian holiday calendar. Also remember that sometimes when you go to places in off-seasons you can pull off an unexpectedly cheap budget travel plan. If needed, you can work some extra Sundays and manage to convince your boss. Though, nothing would be possible if you yourself are not convinced that you need a blissful holiday trip.

I enunciate each of my points even more strongly if you are in your twenties or thirties. This is the age for travelling. You are fit, you are fast and you are sharp. The three most essential things needed for the optimal travel experience. Imagine going to Andaman and Nicobar but unable to go scuba diving. Imagine visiting Rohtang pass in McLeodganj but your immense back pain is not letting you ski. Consider a trip to Kashmir without the experience of para-sailing.

These are the few years of your life which will let you do each one of these things. These years of your life, you should go out making memories which you will narrate to your grandchildren 30 years down the line. But, making this fantasy a reality, is up to you. Your enthusiasm, your adrenaline rush, your excitement, your courage. Go ahead and plan a trip don’t be afraid to unshackle yourselves from the ruthless chain of dullness of usual life. As they say, just do it. Bon Voyage and happy holidays!

So let’s go for a memorable trip….
